Centre Church
Kids Ministry Director
The Collaboration of Faith and Strategy
At Centre Church, I served as the Children’s Ministry Director - overseeing everything from curriculum design and teaching materials to parent communication and volunteer coordination. Working closely with church leadership, I helped shape lessons that were engaging, rooted in truth, and easy for parents to continue at home through the guides and booklets I developed.
The Challenge
When I stepped into the role, the ministry already had a strong foundation thanks to the previous director’s work. My goal was to build on that momentum - to strengthen the structure, bring consistency, and help the ministry serve families in a deeper way.
We wanted to move beyond the Sunday experience and find ways for the children’s lessons to extend into the week.
It was also about nurturing leadership within the team - helping others grow confident in both their teaching and their purpose.
Approach
I focused on honoring what was already in place while developing new systems that could support long-term growth. That included refining processes, encouraging collaboration, and creating a curriculum that tied seamlessly into the broader ministry.
The aim was to build something sustainable and heartfelt - a ministry that could thrive because of the people who served within it.
The Outcome
Over time, the ministry became more organized and adaptable.
Clearer processes made it easier for volunteers to lead, communication with parents improved, and lessons began to connect naturally across different areas of church life. A strong sense of teamwork took root - leaders who shared the same vision and carried it forward with confidence. The ministry continued to grow steadily, built on shared values, mutual trust, and a genuine desire to serve.
